AI summary tracking

Monitoring the AI-generated answers that search engines show for a topic, including which sources they cite.

AI summary tracking means regularly recording the AI-generated answers that search engines display for the queries people use about a topic: the text of the answer, the date, and the sources it links.

AI answers often draw on pages that rank for related queries, so they can repeat a claim long after the original was disputed. Tracking them shows which pages the answer cites, which tells you where a correction will change the answer. See what to do when an AI summary repeats a false claim.
