Republication vs. corroboration
Copies of one statement are republication. Corroboration requires an independent source reaching the same fact from its own evidence.
Republication is the same statement appearing again: a wire story run by many outlets, a press release quoted in a blog, a screenshot of an article shared on social media. However many times it appears, it is still one source.
Corroboration is when a second, independent party reaches the same fact from its own evidence, such as a separate measurement, an official record, or a reporter's own verification.
The difference is why TruthRanking shows an evidence level with every verdict. A claim that appears in fifty places but traces back to one origin is rated "repetition only." Volume is not evidence.
