Evidence level
How much independent evidence stands behind a verdict: none, repetition only, one independent origin, several, or conflicting.
The evidence level describes how strong the evidence behind a verdict is. TruthRanking uses five levels:
- No evidence: nothing found yet.
- Repetition only: many appearances, one origin.
- Single independent origin: one primary source.
- Multiple independent origins: two or more unrelated primary sources agree.
- Conflicting: independent sources disagree.
Showing the level next to the verdict lets a reader see at a glance whether a rating rests on one document or several, and stops repetition from being mistaken for proof.
